Acellus Deployment

Credit Recovery

When credit recovery is needed, much of the basic instruction necessary for a given course of study will have already taken place, and the student will have a limited amount of time in which to complete the requirements of the course. Acellus provides a fast-paced method of evaluating which concepts a student needs, and providing in-depth instruction only where it is needed. Here is how it works:

  • A student views a lesson video teaching a single concept.
  • Next, students are given problems, allowing them to demonstrate their understanding of the concept.
  • When students enter a teacher-controlled number of correct answers in a row, mastery is demonstrated and the student is moved forward.
  • When students enter a teacher-controlled number of wrong answers, they are required to repeat the lesson video or to see a special help video to gain mastery of the concept.
  • After completing a unit of lessons, the student is tested on the concepts to be sure he or she understands the material.
  • Once the student passes the test, he or she is moved forward to the next unit and the cycle continues.
  • When a student has completed all the units, the teacher can access and print reports to show that all necessary requirements have been met to recover the missing credit.
