IAS - Membership Grades

Qualifications: The level of Fellow is reserved for those persons that have completed years of distinguished service as members of the Academy. For admission or transfer to Fellow status, a candidate must have:

15 years of activity within the Academy while at the Senior Member grade, or
10 years serving as Principal Author on one or more Encyclopedia Articles

MEMBERS

Qualifications: The level of Member is limited to those who have satisfied the educational requirements of the International Academy of Science and/or who have demonstrated professional competence in science, engineering, and/or technology. For admission or transfer to Member status, a candidate must either be:

An individual who has received a Doctoral degree or equivalent in a science, engineering, or technology-related field, or
An individual who has received a BS degree or equivalent in a science or technology-related field and has at least three years of professional work experience either teaching, creating, developing, practicing, or managing in a science, engineering, or technology-related field, or
An individual who has at least five years of professional work experience either teaching, creating, developing, practicing, or managing in a science, engineering, or technology-related field.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

Registration: Basic registration required

Qualifications: The Associate Member grade is designed for technical and non-technical applicants who do not meet the qualifications for Member grade, but who would benefit through membership and participation as part of the International Academy of Science, and for those who are progressing, through continuing education and work experience, towards the qualifications for Member grade.
