The International Academy of Science is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit corporation organized under the laws of the state of Missouri for the purpose of promoting education. At the college level, we operate an entrepreneurial learning program designed to teach students how to create jobs and develop new high-tech industries. This vocational training program is operated under the name of the International Institute of Science and Technology and offers the Bachelor of Research (BR), the Master of Research (MR), and the Doctor of Research (DR) degrees pursuant to a letter of exemption issued by the Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education. Students enrolled in the program receive scholarships covering 100% of the cost of tuition.
The Academy is also very involved in computer-based learning systems based on the Acellus platform. Academy courses on a variety of academic topics are in daily use by schools and home schoolers throughout the country, in every state. The course offerings include nearly 10,000 educational videos filmed by the Academy with some of the Nation's most talented teachers. The courses utilize a rich blend of photos, artwork, and other multimedia offerings from a number of generous sources, all of which are provided to students at no cost. The courseware development work is supported by a community of volunteers and by charitable contributions. Students and schools enrolled in the Academy programs pay a modest license fee to help cover the cost of courseware delivery and record-keeping services.
