Ms. Shanelle S. Smith brings extensive experience and training to the Acellus English I course. Ms. Smith received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Business Management from Fisk University in Nashville, followed by a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. She is pursuing an Educational Specialist degree in Leadership and Superintendency through Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, while serving as a Middle School English Language Methods Instructor in the Kansas City Teacher Residency program, where she delivers curricular aims that align to both Missouri Learning Standards and CCSS for nine teacher residents; assesses writing and lesson planning of residents to ensure that they are aligned, engaging, and effective; and prepares teacher residents to take the MOCA state exam for teacher readiness. Ms. Smith also serves as a Communication Arts Teacher, ELA Facilitator, and AdvancED Accreditation Coordinator at University Academy. She is currently certified to teach English for grades 5-12.
