Applicant Requirements and Prerequisites

Thank you for your interest in Institute of Science and Technology’s (IST) education programs.  IST seeks to develop the knowledge, understanding, and imagination of its students, enabling them to take leadership positions in efforts to improve the quality of technology and scientific research around the globe. As an IST student, you will join a dynamic community of students, faculty and alumni passionate about advancing the field of applied science, education, or cyber security at all levels and addressing the challenges facing our world.

All IST programs are designed to develop outstanding researchers who have a deep understanding of the scientific, practical, and policy issues they study.

A prospective student must make a written application to the school.  Supporting documents, including student transcripts and other supporting documents, should be included. Foreign, non-immigrant students must also provide proof of English proficiency and of financial responsibility for the student.

IST Scholarship Program

Students planning to attend the Institute of Science and Technology may apply for a full scholarship to cover the cost of tuition.  A prospective students may start the IST application process by completing the IST Scholarship Application.

At the end of each term, IAS will evaluate the status of each student on scholarship to assure that each student is succeeding in their program. Only those students succeeding in their program will be allowed to keep their IAS scholarship for this program.

Selection of Candidates

Applicants are selected by an International Academy of Science review committee. Selection is based upon current program enrollment, intellectual abilities of the students as demonstrated by their GPAs, and on the opinion of the committee concerning the students’ ability to succeed — not only in the programs, but also in industry after their degrees are awarded.

In selecting students for IAS educational programs, the International Academy of Science shall not discriminate against any applicant because of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
