Mike Carney is recognized by the International Academy of Science for his contributions to Acellus in the AP Environmental Science course. Mr. Carney has received extensive training in Environmental Science. He earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Horticultural Science, as well as a Secondary Science Teaching Certificate, at Oklahoma State University. Shortly thereafter, he began teaching Environmental Science and Physical Science at Jenks High School and added AP Environmental Science the first year it became available through the College Board. In addition to teaching and curriculum work, Mike serves as a consultant in AP Environmental Science for the National Math and Science Initiative and the Arkansas Advanced Initiative for Math and Science. He has also served as a consultant to the College Board, has facilitated multiple AP Summer Institutes and other workshops, and has mentored numerous beginning and experienced teachers in AP Environmental Science.
