New Acellus Course: America: The Forging of a Nation

We are thrilled to announce the release of a very special Acellus course: “America: The Forging of a Nation.” This semester-long American history course invites students to delve into the captivating narrative of the American Revolution, exploring the journey from colonial discontent to the establishment of a new republic founded on the principles of liberty and self-government.

Filmed on location at iconic Revolutionary landmarks such as Old North Church and Independence Hall, this course offers a vivid exploration of historical events, key figures, and significant decisions that shaped the nation. Students will engage in the work of historians by sequencing critical events, analyzing causes and effects, and interpreting primary sources such as Thomas Paine’s influential pamphlet, Common Sense.

As learners examine the path to independence and the early battles that forged a resilient spirit, they will also explore George Washington’s leadership and the diverse personalities of the Founding Fathers. The course culminates in a comprehensive look at the drafting and ratification of the U.S. Constitution, encouraging students to reflect on the enduring legacy of the American Revolution.
